Ex empleado de Sony acusa a Nintendo de uso indebido de patentes en 3DS

La compañía Tomita Technologies, fundada por el antiguo empleado de Sony Seijiro Tomita, presentó el día 22 de junio una demanda contra Nintendo por el uso indebido de sus patentes en tecnología 3D estetoscópica utilizada en la Nintendo 3DS. Seijiro Tomita trabajo durante casi 30 años en Sony hasta que decidió retirarse de la compañía en 2002 para centrarse en la investigación y desarrollo de diferentes tecnologías.
Según consta en la demanda la Nintendo 3DS utiliza tecnología patentada por Tomita Technologies tanto en Estados Unidos (patente número 7.417.664) como en Japón pero la compañía no ha querido de momento llegar a un acuerdo de licencia al que otras compañías si han accedido.
En la demanda la compañía reclama a Nintendo una compensación por los hechos descritos pero en ningún momento se solicitan medidas cautelares, por lo que no parece probable ninguna sorpresa al respecto.
